Syndicate

Syndicate was an all time classic title that saw you take control of elite cyborg team that infiltrated, murdered and assassinated their way through various levels of isometric 3d towns and cities. Other teams controlled by rival syndicates were also on the prowl looking to take out your team and claim the area for their own greed. Personally I never finished the first game on my trusty Amiga 1200 – falling short of victory in the final (and ridiculously hard) “Atlantic Accelerator” mission, and only got the opportunity to have a brief play with the later sequel “Syndicate Wars”. If the developer can match the gameplay of the early titles and combine that with the graphics and power of modern platforms then they could just be on to a winner. Though the game has been taken from it’s RTS roots and dragged kicking and screaming into what seems firmly FPS only territory we are left to wonder: cyborgs in raincoats with hats pulled down low, packing gauss guns and lasers – what’s not to like here ?

In the world of Syndicate, everything is digitally connected, including the people. Players aren’t limited to the weapons in their hands. Through DART 6 bio-chip technology implanted in their head, players can slow down time and breach the digital world around them to take down their foes using a variety of upgradable hacking mechanics. Syndicate’s blend of fast-paced, futuristic, action shooter settings and story combined with innovative chip breach gameplay instantly immerses players in a unique digital world.
